I’m writing today to thank our next-door neighbor, Community Projects, for investing in mental health for older adults in our community. Community Projects recognizes the vulnerable of this growing population.

Approximately 1 in 3 older adults in Napa County suffer from depression and/or anxiety (Napa County Older Adult Survey, 2015). Many of these residents have nowhere to turn for help.

Mentis provides bi-lingual professional mental health services to people throughout the county of every age, stage and income level. That includes older adults with Medicare coverage or even no insurance.

Mentis’ older adult program provides a safe place for seniors to talk about the stresses they face, resolve family conflicts, reduce depression and isolation, or receive support around life changes related to aging.

Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for older adults and their families by enabling them to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

Thank you again to Community Projects, because everyone needs support at times. And without generous supporters like you, people throughout the valley would needlessly suffer in silence.
