Stephen Donoviel's letter regarding the Walt Ranch project ("Reject Walt Ranch," July 19) had one sentence that I want to reference: "Looking at the plot maps, this looks more like a plan for multiple ranchettes than a farming operation."
We have to look only a few miles north of Calistoga to see how the Walt Ranch may evolve in Napa County. The Hall Ranch in Alexander Valley, Geyersville, is approximately 400 acres of gently rolling hills composed of 10 luxury estate parcels, each with a building site and planted vineyards. It is served by rural utilities, including a private water system. Lots more details at hall-ranch.com.
And to quote the marketing materials: "Hall Ranch is Alexander Valley's newest residential subdivision...and provides a rare opportunity for those who share a passion for the environment and desire to create a unique sanctuary."
