PETALUMA — A 19-year-old alleged graffiti artist was apprehended with paint on his hands and spray cans in his possession and arrested on suspicion of vandalism Thursday in Petaluma, police said.
Emmanuel Bautista, 19, of Petaluma, was arrested at 11:59 p.m. near Ellis and East Washington streets.
Officers responded to that location after someone called to tell them that a person was spray painting signs and garbage cans.
Once there, officers saw Bautista who matched the description of the suspect police were given.
Police said Bautista spoke with them and allegedly admitted to the graffiti and his moniker OXE.
Police allege they found numerous nearby areas vandalized.
Police are asking for help locating other places that were vandalized by Bautista.
