The Napa County Green Party is affiliated with the Green Party of California and the Green Party of the United States-- the largest anti-capitalist and eco-socialist political party in the country.
Our positions are based firmly on the Green Party’s Ten Key Values: ecological wisdom, nonviolence, social justice, grassroots democracy, decentralization, community-based economics, feminism, respect for diversity, personal and global responsibility, and sustainability.
Below are our endorsements for the June 5 primary election.
We support the following candidates: Governor: Write-in candidate, Veronika Fimbres; Lieutenant Governor: Gayle McLaughlin; Secretary of State: Mike Feinstein and Eric Rydberg; U.S. Representative (District 5): Jason Kishineff; and Napa County Supervisor (District 3): Cio Perez.
We encourage a Yes vote on the following Napa County ballot measures: Measure C and Measure D.
We encourage a No vote on the following regional ballot measure: Regional Measure 3.
On the state level, we support a Yes vote on propositions 69, 71, and 72 and encourage people to vote No on propositions 68 and 70.
We are recommending a No vote on Regional Measure 3 and Proposition 68, because they are both regressive taxes. A regressive tax is a tax that takes a larger percentage of income from low-income earners than from high-income earners and, therefore, affects people with low incomes more severely.
Rather than continuing to burden working individuals and families with ever-increasing taxes, to increase revenue we support progressive taxes, which take a larger percentage from high-income earners, as well as closing corporate loopholes to make large corporations pay their fair share.
