The article the other day about the Halloween haunted house art caught my eye ("An apocalyptic Napa haunted house set in an underwater future," Oct. 31).

The climate change activist behind the art work is concerned about sea level rise and depicted surfers going past various famous landmarks that have been inundated. The caption had a quote from the activist and said, "The surfers represent mankind's inability to digest the magnitude of climate change."

Well, I look at the surfers and say it represents mankind's ability to adapt. I guess I'm just an optimist who is also skeptical about anthropogenic climate change.
