We are so proud to call ourselves residents of the City of Napa. We watched online on Tuesday as our own city council voted to fly the rainbow flag during pride month in June.

For our family, the rainbow flag is a symbol of tolerance, acceptance, kindness and compassion. In a world where there is so much intolerance, we are overjoyed for our city to make a statement saying everyone is important.

These latest attacks on women have really alarmed me even though I am old and well past child bearing age. Women have long been second class citizens having to fight over the years for some measure of equality.
