Stop allowing them to ask forgiveness

Stop allowing them to ask forgiveness

I was shocked to read about the Bremer Winery and their pattern of disregard for the rules of our community ("Upvalley winery hit with water agency violation," July 13).

The wine industry has always promoted compliance with all laws and regulations, and it is unfortunate when one individual feels compelled to do things that harm our valley. I hope our county government starts to see the harm these project are doing to the environment, and indeed our industry, and stops allowing owners the opportunity to ask for forgiveness versus permission.
