For many who are witnessing the decline in quality of life here in beautiful Napa Valley, it comes with great sadness. It appears the focus on tourism and commercialism has taken over views of slow growth and agriculture. With approval of new hotels (expansion of others), new wineries, vineyards creeping up hillsides or in woodland areas, all types of additional housing, it is becoming out of control.

There is already strain on natural resources, such as water, utilities, etc. Traffic problems are increasing as well as pollution, and there is the management of sanitation and garbage issues. Our roads, streets and sidewalks are in dismal condition with little improvement for years to come.

Can it be greed or just lack of foresight by our government that is changing our valley forever?
