UVFC needs volunteer school tutors

  • Updated

UpValley Family Centers (UVFC) is in need of community volunteers to serve as tutors for students at the St. Helena Primary and St. Helena Elementary Schools.

In partnership with St. Helena Unified School District, UVFC will be launching the Tutor Volunteer Program, aimed to support St. Helena students from kindergarten to the fifth grade.

Annette Smith will serve as the Tutoring Volunteer Coordinator for this new program designed to help build relationships between the community and local schools while promoting student success. Smith will serve as the liaison, connecting community volunteers with opportunities to make a positive difference for students and our local schools.

Volunteers are asked to participate one hour a week, from April through the end of May. UVFC will be hosting two orientations on Tuesday, March 28 for interested volunteers. The first is 10 a.m. at the St. Helena Primary School. The second is at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Helena Elementary School. Interested volunteers must attend one of these two meeting times or set up a separate time with Smith.

For more information on UVFC’s Tutoring Volunteer Program, or to sign up to be a volunteer, contact Annette Smith at 707-965-5010 ext. 306 or at
