Napa Chaudary & Associates defeated Vallejo “A,” 8-7, behind a stellar performance from Hagen Bresee in a Babe Ruth League senior division 16-19 age group baseball game.
Bresee went six innings and struck out eight.
Both teams remained scoreless for the first three innings. Vallejo scored four runs in the top of the fourth but Napa came out swinging in the bottom half, putting up four runs of its own.
Napa was holding onto a 6-5 lead going into the top of the seventh, when Vallejo took the lead, 7-6.
But in the bottom of the seventh, Frank Villanueva sparked the comeback win with a leadoff walk and set the tone. Andrew Carlile reached with a walk and Justin Jordan had a base hit to load the bases with one out.
Ethan Collins singled to left field, tying the game at 7-7.
Bresee ended the game on a squeeze play as Carlile scored the game-winning run.
Napa improves to 3-4 on the year. Vallejo is 9-1.
Carlile and Mario Robledo pitched in relief. Alex Neal got the final out to get the save.
Villanueva (2 for 3), Collins (3 for 4), Jordan (2 for 3) and Bresee (1 for 3) led Napa at the plate.
Alex Bockhold, Neal and Nick Querin played well on defense.
