The Justin-Siena High School varsity boys track and field team won the title at Saturday’s CIF North Coast Section Class A Championship meet at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa. The Braves had 69 points, beating out second-place Fort Bragg with 561⁄2 points. There were 28 schools entered.
Jon Hoff won two events, the 110 and 300 hurdles, and anchored the winning 4x100 relay team for the Braves.
Hoff set a personal record in the 110 hurdles in a time of 14.88 seconds. He achieved PR and meet records in the 300 hurdles in a time of 39.32 seconds.
Justin-Siena’s 4x100 relay team of Mark Bozzini, Orion Kamins, Jonathan Fidler and Hoff won in a time of 44.92 seconds.
The top three places in each event advance to the North Coast Section Meet of Champions at UC Berkeley’s Edwards Stadium on May 28 and 29.
Austin Hyatt won the pole vault for the second year in a row, clearing 12 feet.
Bozzini won the 200 meters in a time of 22.25 seconds, a school record. Bozzini was also second in the 400 meters in 50.86.
Nick Kinda was fifth in the 1,600 (4:41.91), Fidler was third in the 300 hurdles (43.41, personal record), and Kamins was fifth in the 100 (11.42) and sixth in the long jump (18-111⁄2 ).
The Justin-Siena varsity girls finished 15th out of 21 schools. No one from Justin-Siena advanced to the NCS Meet of Champions.
Emily Ichikawa was sixth in the long jump (15-1) and Lauren Cardey was fourth in the high jump (4-10).
The 4x400 relay team of Ichikawa, Ali Romano, Amelia Hogan and Leslie Johnson was sixth in a time of 4:30.37.
The 4x100 relay team of Ichikawa, Romano, Hogan and Cardey was fifth in a time of 53.16.
