Kathleen Schafle, a sophomore from Napa who plays an attacker position, scored a goal for the UC Davis women’s water polo team in Saturday’s 12-7 Big West Conference loss to Hawaii at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex in Honolulu.
Schafle, a Vintage High School graduate, has 21 goals and 17 assists for the Aggies (16-8 overall, 1-1 Big West Conference).
Addie Dearden, a sophomore defender from Napa, has started nine games for the UC Davis women’s lacrosse team (5-4 overall).
Dearden is a Napa High graduate who played for BearLax, an elite year-round travel club team that practices in the Contra Costa County town of Orinda, and the Napa Force, which is affiliated with the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association.
The Cal-Hi Sports Baseball State Top 20, which was announced on Monday, includes teams from both the CIF North Coast Section and Sac-Joaquin Section.
Foothill-Pleasanton (8-1) is No. 8, Franklin-Elk Grove (9-2) is No. 12, Elk Grove (4-2-2) is No. 16, and Acalanes-Lafayette (9-1) is No. 18.

Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, which has Adlee Van Winden and Torrey Van Winden of Napa, went 4-1 at the Big West Beach Volleyball Challenge at Livermore Community Park in Folsom last week.
Cal Poly had wins over Cal State Northridge (5-0), Sacramento State (5-0), Cal State Bakersfield (5-0) and Long Beach State (3-2). The Mustangs’ only loss was to Hawaii (4-1).
Torrey Van Winden and Tiadora Miric went 4-1.
Adlee Van Winden and Taylor Nelson went 4-1.
Cal Poly (19-3 overall) is in second place in the Big West and is No. 5 in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association Collegiate Beach Volleyball Poll.
The Van Windens are Vintage High graduates.
Kelsi Maday, a Napa High graduate, is batting .414 (36-for-87) with four doubles, a triple, three home runs and 19 RBIs for the UC San Diego softball team (23-10 overall, 16-8 California Collegiate Athletic Association).
Maday also has 21 stolen bases and a .586 slugging percentage.
