Goodwill, Cofer open midget season

Napa’s racing dentist, Dr. David Goodwill, had a pretty good start to his midget race car season at Madera Speedway on Saturday. He qualified sixth fastest in his Bailey Brothers race car, won his heat race, and finished third in the 30-lap main event. Goodwill races next in Stockton on June 16.

Another Napa team fielded an entry, as Maria Cofer qualified the Storck’s Garage midget eighth fastest and finished third in her heat race. Cofer was running second in the main event when a massive oil leak sidelined her for the evening.
