Youth Track and Field: Napa Track Club competes in Oakland meet

On May 11, the Napa Track Club participated in the Hampton Phillips Classic Relays at Skyline High School in Oakland. The Napa Track Club only had five members that participated at the meet, but each one of them was able to bring home a medal.

Sofia Tinnon continued her winning ways as she grabbed the gold medal in the javelin throw (55-4) and placed fourth in the shot put (17-4).

Solomon Tinnon muscled out a throw of 29-9 in the Group 4 boys shot put and was rewarded with a third-place medal. In the long jump, Tinnon had a season best of 13-10.

The group 4 girls, made up of Donna Roscoe, Kendall Martin and Cailey Eade, had a big day for the NTC.

Roscoe started the successful day by getting the gold medal in the 3,000-meter racewalk in a time of 20:50. Next was Kendall Martin, as she ran a lifetime best in the 400-meter run (1:04.88), securing the silver medal and getting her season best in the long jump (12-10).

It was Eade who had an outstanding day for the NTC. Eade owned the 800-meter run that day with a lifetime best of 2:30.91, putting her at the top of the NTC record books in Group 4 girls 800.
