Adam Michel Gouveia and Brittany Mulligan Hawkins, both of San Francisco, were wed Aug. 29 at a ceremony at the bride’s family home in Rutherford. A reception followed at Rutherford Grove Winery.
The bride is the daughter of Brigid Mulligan of St. Helena and John Hawkins of St. Helena. The groom is the son of Dr. Anthony and Lois Gouveia of St. Helena. Both are graduates of St. Helena High School.
Immediately after the ceremony, members of the Saint Helena Community Band marched out playing “When the Saints Go Marching In.” The bride sabraged the Champagne for the toast. The local rock band The Fabulous Screwtops performed at the reception. The bride’s father plays bass guitar in the band.
Maid of honor was Molly Kenward Fenwick of Napa. Bridesmaids were Lauren Leeds Pesch of Rutherford; Claire Sculatti of San Francisco; Alana Corbet of San Francisco; Elisa Robenson of New York City; Sharman Ordoyne of New York City; Lucia Fisher of San Diego; Betsy Hecker Hartman of Chicago; Megan Murphy of Chicago; and Christen Smith Laufik from Napa.
Best man was Perry Clark of St. Helena. Ushers were Graham Clark of Napa; Brandon Kufrin from London, U.K.; Brandon Kelsey from Santa Rosa; JP Mulligan Hawkins, brother of the bride, from San Francisco; Travis VanTreese from Encinitas; Chris Maudlin from San Diego; and Adam Shuey from Washington state.
Junior bridesmaids were Maren Phillips, niece of the bride, from Lincoln, California, and Abigal Crosby, niece of the groom, from San Diego.
Banner bearers were Griffin Phillips, nephew of the bride, and Benjamin Crosby, nephew of the groom.
After a short stint in Cape Town, South Africa, the couple plan to reside in San Francisco.
