The Napa Valley Museum Yountville will observe Tartan Day at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7. Tartan Day is a holiday celebrating the best of Scotland, with a Scottish Whisky Tasting.
Explore Scotch whisky under the expert tutelage of St. Helena resident James Forbes, creator of the Dramophone Whisky app (bearshead.com) and patron of Scotland’s popular Lonach Highland Gathering & Games (lonach.org). Participants will learn to identify Scotch’s different regions and how a distillery’s microclimate affects the taste of its whisky.
The evening includes a curated tasting of five great whiskies, food pairings, plus admission to the Main Gallery’s world premiere exhibit “France is a Feast: the Photographic Journey of Paul & Julia Child.”
Early-bird tickets are $50 for members and $60 for non-members. At the door, tickets are $75. For tickets visit napavalleymuseum.org.
