Big congratulations are in order for all the folks at Trinchero Napa Valley and Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga for a very successful fundraising dinner and auction Aug. 19. The event raised $778,000 for the girls and boys. Auntie always says there is no better feeling than helping a kid.

It’s that time again: The 30th annual Open Studios Napa Valley will showcase the vast and varied talents of 71 Napa Valley artists in 43 creative work spaces open to the public for free, self-guided, art discovery tours from 10 a.m. to5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16 -17 and Sept. 23 – 24.

It will be a cappella fun featuring the House Jacks and the St. Helena High School Advanced Choir, Jazz@7 and Vocal Color, Saturday, Sept. 30 at the St. Helena Performing Arts Center. The House Jacks will teach vocal workshops to local students, followed by a concert. Tickets will be on sale soon, expected to be $20 general and $5 students.

And the music never stops here in Princess de Helena Gagarin’s town. Napa Valley College has invited interested singers to join the vocal group directed by Ted von Pohle from 6 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesdays, starting immediately, for a performance of “Carmina Burana,” at 3 p.m., Nov. 19. Singers for all sections are needed, but especially men. Interested choristers can sign up to audit the class rather than enroll in the class, a less costly way to go. The St. Helena Public Library will host a free artist reception, Thursday, Sept. 7, 7p.m. titled Latinx Art by El Comalito Collective In partnership with Friends & Foundation, St. Helena Public Library. El Comalito Collective is an art gallery and retail space located in Vallejo that supports and builds community by showcasing underrepresented voices through a collective of works that spark consciousness.
