Napa Track Club sprinter Ryan Searl, who will be a junior at St. Helena High School in the fall, qualified for the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics in the 100 meters by clocking 11.16 seconds at a qualifying meet in Fresno on Saturday.

Searl – who will attend the national meet in Greensboro, North Carolina the last week of July – was even faster at the pre-qualifier in San Mateo, finishing in 11 seconds flat.

He ran a personal-record 10.94 for St. Helena High at the Coastal Mountain Conference Championships in May. He went on to become the Saints’ only individual qualifier for the CIF North Coast Section Meet of Champions at UC Berkeley, joined only by the 4x100 boys relay team.
