My Facebook friends know of this, but I trust they'll bear with the partial repeat. I was living in New York during 9-11, and I saw tremendous community come together then, but what I am seeing in Northern California, the outpouring of offers of help -- people with cars offering to help people flee with their stuff; people offering their homes and hearts to evacuees; people ... well, the list is too long. But what I am seeing here is so beautiful, it overwhelms me and brings me to tears.
There is no specific wine of the week today. Drink Napa Valley, or Sonoma, or any of the wines of our neighboring communities, and toast the beautiful people and the amazing places that made the wine in your glass.
Catherine Bugue is the Star’s tasting panel writer. Her weekly pursuit of a good glass of wine provides a nice supply of choices for the Wine of the Week column. If you’d like to submit a Napa Valley wine for this column, please send it to the Napa Valley Wine Academy, 2501 Oak St., Napa, CA 94559. There’s no guarantee your wine will be chosen to be featured, but all wines will be evaluated and considered.
